So begins the tale of Kvothe - currently known as Kote, the unassuming innkeeper - from his childhood in a troupe of travelling players, through his years spent as a near feral orphan in a crime riddled city, to his daringly brazen yet successful bid to enter a difficult and dangerous school of magic. I have talked to Gods, loved women, and written songs that make the minstrels weep. I have purchased this from Audible on the 6th of. My attention comes to the recent audiobook released by Orion Publishing Group. And I know, everyone had already said something about it, an article or blog but as it goes somebody always has something to add up. I tread paths by moonlight that others fear to speak of during day. Well it just so happens that The Name of the Wind is as great as everyone says it is. I was expelled from the university at a younger age than most people are allowed in. I have spent the night with Felurian and left with both my sanity and my life. I spent hours reading the 600+ pages of this novel and felt transported to a rich world full of adventure and intrigue. I have stolen princesses back from sleeping barrow kings. The Name of the Wind is one of those rare fantasy novels that manage to fully engross the reader in the tale. ![]()
